I see all the pictures of fish and it is making me so sick to go fishing and hook into anything. Opens up here in Grays Harbor on Friday and hope to find something willing to srike before noon somewhere. Not much hope of an early smorgasbord of fish due to low water but should be a few strong determined ones in the rivers.

Maybe next year I will have to see about making a trip down your way so I can fish sometimes before the leaves fall.

Grays is know for its coho run, right?

Coho in the Chehalis and Chinook in the Humptulips but yes, mainly Coho. Supposedly gonna be a big run this year but we will see how things pan out with this low water and heavy ocean fishing.

Hope we see some great reports from up north, good luck!

You and me both hope so. Gonna try fly fishing for the brutes this year. Have to run through the posts on here and see if there are many hints for what to use down there. Seems the same works down there and up here but colors seem to differ slightly year to year. Bronze vs. copper, silver vs chrome, pink vs orange and little things like that.

Well I am sure there are many willing participants that would share there ideas on that subject around here if you post a thread for it.

good luck!!! if your gunna fly fish tidewater and bays are the best because the fish are still feeding a wee bit, clpink and white or purple and black clouser minnows slowly trolled or casted to rollers works. or the same for chinook but with chartruese or orange maybe even a blue comet fly or clouser. check out the archives in oregonflyfishingblog.com lots of helpful info for salmon on a fly in there. if i were to fly fish for a coho pink or purple would be my go to colors

...and red.
