    Big early bass

Oh ok I didn't know they were different fish. Pics are a pain you can make an 8 look like a 10 and a 7 look like a 9 if you are a wizard.

    Big early bass

Its about a 5.5lber pics are tough. The 2nd pic makes it look massive the first pic shows true size. The 6.3lb fish you caught is bigger. That being said its a nice fish!

    Bandon surf perch

Yeah it was giant. My brother gets credit for that one. The rest were around 8-12 inches. Yeah they were hitting it pretty good. You can fish a lot more without using live bait because you dont have to rig up as much either. I think that is what got us the most numbers just always having a line...

    Bandon surf perch

Fished off Bullards Beach (just in front of the sign saying no motor vehicles) and caught 11 surf perch in about an hour before and during slack tide on Saturday afternoon (perfect weather). Biggest one was about 2.5lbs its pretty fun fishing. We caught most of them on the Berkley Gulp Sand...

    Finishing the day strong

Umpqua is a great river just does not have a lot of hatchery fish. This is due to a couple things. 1. The South Umpqua has a strong run of wildfish with 1 small hatchery. Hatchery fish are terrible. They are only there for the angler and 10/10 biologist and everyone else should want to...

Best day ever on the Big Elk Creek

I have always wondered the theory that people say streams that they don't fish so people can fish where they fish in peace. :P Combat fishing starts at home, on the internet. LOL 15 is a lot though. I have hooked 2 steelhead in my entire life. Trying today though I am a lot more prepared...

    How to fish for bass?

A weightless Senko will catch bass almost anytime of the year. Its pretty fool proof as well. Cast it next to cover let it sink on slack line and they will eat it. Senkos in recent years for me have become less and less productive because everyone throws them. I do however fish larger...

Road trip to San Francisco, fishing involved!! :D

Everything is so slow right now you might as well just spend quality time with the GF. Bass are gonna next to impossible to catch with any consistency and if you do hook up don't expect a fight.

Steelhead on the air = fish OFF!!!

You can fight some fish by not letting them jump. Many times I find the harder tension I have on them the more they want to jump. You can feel a fish surge towards the surface try moving your rod and pulling from the exact opposite direction you were pulling in. This seems to throw them off...
