Caught my first steelhead on the Puyallup in 1968. I'm one who took place in the plunder and pillaging, if you'd call it that.
I believe it was more like folks didn't know any better at the time and never thought it would end.
I think anyone who has fished for steelhead long enough killed wild...
I use a light from a gentleman that makes his own UV cure.
His light has cured a number of different cures for me.
The name of the cure is Silvercreek's Krystal UV cure. I like the cure be sued it cures tack free.

Thousands of salmon have been caught off Puget Sound beaches using Buzz Bombs. They are very effective.
Lots of people use a mini hoochie skirt under the buzz Bomb. On odd years with big pink salmon runs, they are hard to find and sell out quickly.

Up this way, I've encountered numerous bull trout tossed up on the banks on the Skagit and Sauk rivers.
Some folks say they eat to many salmon and steelhead eggs and smolts, so they waste them.
Damn shame if you ask me. They are native and a indicator species that has co-existed with salmon...
Did it look like it had been opened prior to you buying the pack of hooks?
Could have been a pack someone returned and got thrown back up on the peg.
