I got my 1wt setup from don at river city. The rod was like $190, I think. The reel was like $70. And don gave me a free backing, fly line, and leader. It was worth the $260. You could also get a cabelas glass rod. They are pretty sweet rods. But if you want to go super cheap, get an eagleclaw...

I have to agree with Him. I have fished with a 4/5 we Eagle claw feather light, the yellow one. It is a glass rod and has some sweet medium / slowest action on it. In your PM you mentioned a number of rods that were all fast action or even really fast action. And those are great and all...

The other issue is the definition of "navigable waters". As I understand it, not all rivers are considered navigable. The Fishing regs list I think 6 rivers as navigable. I did find, however, a sweet little PDF that lists a ton of them!!
