Advice on a 2wt fly rod

I got my 1wt setup from don at river city. The rod was like $190, I think. The reel was like $70. And don gave me a free backing, fly line, and leader. It was worth the $260. You could also get a cabelas glass rod. They are pretty sweet rods. But if you want to go super cheap, get an eagleclaw...

Advice on a 2wt fly rod

Ask and ye shall receive!! hahahaha [lol] It has been a while, hasn't it. Life, work, family, church, and fishing have kept me off of OFF. Regarding the small stream rod. I have a 7'6" 3wt which is a blast to use and then my piece de resistance is my TFO Lefty Kreh Finesse 6'9" 1wt. I love...

Where's my fly? What's my problem?

Tinker I hope that in no way you thought that I was calling you lazy because that was not my intention. But if you enjoy it as much as I do than more power to you hahahaha Yes, faster rods do help line speed and do make it easier to cast to some degree. And I think that one should have both...

Where's my fly? What's my problem?

I have to agree with Him. I have fished with a 4/5 we Eagle claw feather light, the yellow one. It is a glass rod and has some sweet medium / slowest action on it. In your PM you mentioned a number of rods that were all fast action or even really fast action. And those are great and all...

    Videos for single-hand spey casting?

Here's a cool one: The Voodoo Cast. Fun to watch and play around with but I don't see it as very practical. There are other, much simpler casts that do the same thing. Take a look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RG4bSn-YSE4 -Spydey

Where's my fly? What's my problem?

I agree with HHM, throw that Scientific Angler 6wt line on it. Also, if you are available this Saturday, I am going to be going fishing, don't know where yet, but maybe we could hit some water. Shoot me a PM if you want to go. Take care and good luck! -Spydey

    Respect and fish

Yes, I agree, let him pee! When a man has to go ... he has to GO! -Spydey P.S. Interesting question & answer from the site above: Question: Can a person float over the surface of water where the underlying lake or streambed is privately-owned? Answer: Yes. According to Oregon court cases...

    Respect and fish

The other issue is the definition of "navigable waters". As I understand it, not all rivers are considered navigable. The Fishing regs list I think 6 rivers as navigable. I did find, however, a sweet little PDF that lists a ton of them!!
