Thanks for all the suggestions, now where can i go to use these techniques that you just told me about? I want to go to the crooked river sometime this summer for some camping since my friends and I like going to prineville resevoir
Okay, I have an 7ft ultra-light rod with 4lb test as well that I use for fishing trout in lakes already, so is there any method to drifting for them like steelhead as well? I bought some floating e-z eggs awhile back that say they are for trout but I have no idea on how to use them lol
So I want to start fishing for trout in rivers and streams but have never tried it before, what kind of tackle and fishing methods would you guys recommend? Where would be a great spot to go to do this as well I live in Hillsboro but I'm willing to drive out to spots that are easy access within...
neoprene have been fine for me for the past several years, in the colder months when I usually wear them I have shorts on underneath. Summer time I just wear shorts and water shoes or sandals if I want to get in the water. But you will get a workout walking in the neoprene when they are wet lol
For clarification which is the upper and which is the lower/bottom portion of the river? would the lower/bottom portion of the river be from rood-bridge to the mouth where the tualatin dumps into the willamette?
I guess boats probably are the only way to get away from the crowds on the bank. I know that the shad like to run close to the bank in fast moving water so I'll just look for a place where I think it has these conditions. If I fail I'll just hit up clackamette park like everyone else bank bound lol
Nice, to hear I was just thinking of Shad earlier today. I'm not big on combat fishing so is there anywhere else to catch shad aside from the park in Oregon city and Bonneville?
I really wanted a pontoon, but the limitations of having a smaller car prevents me from getting a pontoon. Has anyone tried using the float tube at estacada lake at milo mciver park or that lake at clackamette park? I really want to try and get some fishing done there.
So I went and did it, I went and got myself a float tube on Friday... I was going to use it saturday for some trout/bass fishing but that plan fell through since I had a bit to much to drink at the Spring beer and wine festival at the convention center Friday night.
I went and purchased a...
These were peamouths, usually can tell by the size of the mouth because they well are about the size of peas compared to the northern pikeminnows who have a larger mouth.
I'm not sure how big they get, but the ones that have been most common to me are around 9 - 14 inches. The larger ones give a decent fight on light tackle similar to trout i'd say.
So today I went out to Sauvies Island and caught 14 peamouths... they are spawning right now so if you just want to fish go out there and hook them. I was at the gilbert river on the bank between the boat ramp and the handicap dock. I was only out there for about 2 hours and it was pretty much...
This thread is a very helpful thread to me, I am hoping to go out to the wilson for the first time sometime soon here and if I can add more locations to this map after some time then I surely will.
