Nice fish, congrats!

Got her on an egg pattern.

After a terrible year of skunk, many miles hiked and hours fished, it feels good to finally get into some chrome. This chinook put up a nice fight but she was destined for the freezer. They're out there... p.s. thanks metalfisher, couldn't have done it without your help.

There aren't any fish in eagle creek. It's purely a nature reserve / bird watching destination.

I think they are desperately wishing the cumulative total was actually the daily.

The fact that the fishery is operating under a court-ordered management plan from 2008-2017 as a result of US v. Oregon should put to rest any arguments about how well they are doing.

There are far too many factors influencing actual return of fish for them to make any scientifically grounded estimates. Short of tagging every flipping fish that exits the gate, they have no accurate method to make such a claim. Mark-recapture on the scale they are operating isn't sufficient...

If we're going to be swinging the proof bat, where is yours? Telling someone they have no proof and then forwarding your own claims (also without proof) is kind of silly. Just sayin...

I don't really want to say too much, but ODFW could easily restore the fish runs. However, if they did it right, there would be a lot of people in the hatchery programs out of a job. Hatchery programs have little to nothing to do with restoring native runs and everything to do with maintaining...

I am almost positive that I got into one last weekend. I spent about 6 hours tromping around the creek when I came upon a single chrome fish parked in some fast water. It took my fly on the first cast! I didn't get a good hook set, though, and it got away. When I checked the hook it was dull...
