    Help with identification

I am no expert, but I believe that the black spots are due to diet. Overall that water is historically warmer, which limits the normal food sources. The fish then turn to snails. Snails pick up and shed a lot of parasites. The parasites are causing the black spots.

    Your favorite campsite, Maupin, Deschutes

I wouldn't waste anytime scouting for a campsite, big weekend. Take the first spot you can find. My favorite is Oak Springs. You'll likely find more spots below the falls.

    Willamette sturgeon

Under and around the Oregon City Bridge should have some. Lots or rain, lots of flow, water under the bridge is 100' deep. Know what your doing if you anchor up right now.

Bass on the fly- thoughts, techniques, recommendations?

Still water bass poppers are tons of fun. Recommend stringing the popper on the leader. Tie a large knot at the tip of the leader, that stops the popper from coming off. I tie a surgeons loops, and cut the tag and the loop off. This allows the popper to spin freely around the end of the...

Fly fishing for bass near mouth of Tualatin

Try it, there are a bunch of bass in that area. Not sure how many are in the Tualatin. That area is fairly tight, there are a lot of people loading/unload SUPs and yaks where would want to fish. Above that there is a lot of private property to mindful off. My thought is it be a tough cast to...

Suggestions for a 2-3 week trip near Bend or Sunriver or ???

I wouldn't limit yourself to a single hotel, or a single area, there is a lot of good (Fly) fishing all over central Oregon in spring summer. Recently the salmonfly hatch is hitting very late April early May on the Deschutes in the Maupin area. The Descutes can be tough to wade, but can be...

    Brook trout

Hosmer lake has Brookies that large. Fish the channel, dodge the paddle boarders, watch your back cast in the reeds. It's fly fishing only, the water is gin clear. 5x tippet is ok, but 6x is better. That one pick up an egg sucking leach. Its a beautiful lake, but the fishing can very tough.

    Report thread again... winters.. 2013-14

Spent the morning around Riverside, the afternoon at Barton, I had high hopes for the day. Nothing to show for it except an angry beaver slapping its tail. Only heard of one boat getting a hook up.

    Sturgeon update?

It's been a few months since i was last out, but right under the OR City Bridge, East side of the river, in line with a small outfall, there is a nice hole hole. Landing a few 5-7' fish out of kayak, tons of fun getting pulled up river
