What to use in your brine

Everyone seems to have their own secret brine for smoking fish. It’s kind of like finding a honey hole on a river and figuring out how to fish it consistently. It can take a little time and experimenting, but it’s a lot of fun. I like using a wet brine. The best part about a wet brine is that...

    Smoking and steelhead fishing

My wife and I stopped smoking 2.5 years ago. What I have noticed is that in a combat fishery it didn't seem to make much difference. Since quiting My hookup ratio has increaced in the areas where there is not as many fish. The bigger issue is all the butts floating down the river. I am shocked...

    Where are the drifts...

I would think you could pull that off if you were to put in at Carver depending on the cfs of the river. River side park down would be a pretty sure bet.

    Wilson 11/7

I was using a size 8 black body black wing. I grabed them as I was walking out the door as an after thought. Next Time I will make certain to grab the proper size hook to go with it. I am sure that is why I kept losing fish, too small of a hook. Hind sight!

    Wilson 11/7

Ran out to the wilson last night. got there about 3pm. there was about 1.5-2 feet of visability in the water at about mile post 20. Set up with a black spin n glow. Had 6 fish on in about an hour in a half. Alas I could not land a fish to save my life. There was some very nice looking fish.

    Wading boots help

I have a pair of Korker wading boots the guide model. I absolutly love them they have the boa lace system that uses cables instead of laces. No more ice cold hands trying to undo a double knot, or retying a shoe on the water. they have interchangable soles, and this second generation of korker...
