I've been on the river around Mapuin lately with lots of action on stoneflies. March Brown's are also providing some good hatches for dries, though I have yet to catch a fish on a dry fly (pretty new still overall to fly fishing), though I did get a number of strikes last time I was out 2 weeks...

All right last night, fished across from ramp C near the frisbee golf course. Had a number of trout hooked, one to the bank, and one crappie. Was just casting a lure with a slow retrieve. Most action I've had at Hagg in a long while, though haven't been out there much this year, or last fall...

I've had the opposite luck; in my boat with my Dad we rarely get more than a bite, and lucky to get one fish at best. From the bank I rarely don't catch at least a couple, both on worms and powerboat off the bottom, or a lure casting and retrieving from the bank. . My usual spots are by some...

Saw a nice fat little smaller caught today in one of the arms on the ramp A side right in close to shore by a boat. Otherwise have just seen trout being pulled in overall.

Opening weekend report: Had a late night Friday, so didn't get up and at em as early as I had liked, but probably wouldn't have mattered much as it seems the fish were hungover Saturday as well... Got the boat in the water right about 8:30 and just started trolling up along the shoreline...

Good report from spey day. Was able to get some help from the guys there from the fly shop on where I'm going wrong on spey casting. The R.J. Winston rods were sweet! I'm definitely gonna be in the market for one of them soon. It was like driving a sports car as opposed to a lawn mower...
