    Steel head float trip

I have a single person pontoon. I was wondering if anyone else had a yak, or toon and might want to meet up on a weekend, meet a new fishing buddy, and to float the clackamas, or sandy?

Three Fish on the Line, Three Broken Lines, HELP!

Well i usually use 10 lb leader for steel. The reason i use 10 lb is because if if hook a bigger one (10 plus lb steel) i know the leader will hold up. i also use a 10' 6'' lamiglass for the fight which in theory would give me quite a bit more leverege when fighting a bigger fish. I have been...

    Side Drifting

Well I have to say i agree with you about bait not floating and using something that will give it buoyancy but when i drift bait i use smaller amounts of eggs/prawns (not to familiar with coon shrimp). I have had a lot of hook ups using bait only without corkys or anything to help it float. i...

    Side Drifting

I like to drift marbou flies tied on a #2 for steel. some times i use prawn tails too. eggs will also get r done. seen ppl use sand shrimp as well. corkys seem to be productive. the best thing that i have found is to keep it simple, there is such a thing as over kill. Here are a few examples of...

Actually here is a pic of 3 types. The red and black is schlappen, tied palmered style. The ones to the right are marabou. The 1 farthest to the right has a few strands of UV crystal flash that you can pick up at a local fly shop. When i fish these i drift them with a slinky (4 shot) and a...

First time using braided line ... just a few questions.

I use 30# power pro on my rig and it sounds heavy, but i never loose a bobber, and with a 9'6" rod can damn near cast across the clack at mciver with a 1/2oz inline sinker. As far as braided line being more abrasion resistent, i have yet to see that using power pro, but i use it for the...
