    Tuna talk

Sounds delicious. Going to start some searches, but does anyone recommend a certain company for pressure cooking gear?

I cannot wait to get to the ocean!

    Pressured ponds

Topwater is one of the few ways to fool a large, smart bass. It has produced plenty of quality "last attempt" fish when I was getting skunked all day. It requires patience, but is some of the most intense fishing. Most of your strikes happen when you let it sit for a few seconds after a few pops.

    Tuna talk

Thanks Rover and CRun, really liking the idea of my own canned tuna every year. No thanks Tom, need an ocean worthy boat before I invest in tuna gear.

Do you buy them when the boats pull in? How much?

    Tuna talk

Thanks, been doing a bunch of research today on albacore and canning does look like a very simple DYI project. I appreciate all the pointers, and I did call the charter to make sure the tuna gets iced (I heard some of the bigger boats do not). Excited to go, but the cost of a smaller boat is...

    Tuna talk

I'm considering doing a charter for albacore. I would love to be with a smaller group but will go with a 10 person boat. So I have a few questions.... I enjoy cutting my own fish, but due to the long day and travel do you recommend having the charter fillet them up? Tuna loin sounds fantastic...

    More shad! 7.1.2017

I saw your post, wish I would've taken care of them a little more. Will have to eat some next year. How do you like to prepare them?

    More shad! 7.1.2017

They are frozen whole, and all I did was throw them in a gallon bag. I didn't do any vacuum sealing or special prep since I thought they'd just be used for bait.

    More shad! 7.1.2017

Sure thing Bubs, I'm in Newberg. Maybe we can trade for some rockfish pointers from shore or some hunting info? Not necessary though, just like the age old concept of bartering which is becoming forgotten. Would love to help out!

    More shad! 7.1.2017

Fishing for shad was a great experience in learning the ropes out here in the Pacific Northwest. I've done some drift fishing for trout on the North Platte in WY, but drifting in the Willamette was quite the learning curve. After getting some pointers and watching others it finally clicked and...

Yep, just looked at it on a map and you are correct. Someone had told me it was the Little Deschutes, just goes to show if you want the truth look it up yourself.

Rivers Little Deschutes River Fishing Reports

Wils, this was fishing the short private stretch while staying at Eaglecrest. Where this section ends starts the Cline Falls Public area(I think that's what it is called), and I did pretty good there a few years back. I did better on the section North of 126, and theres less people. It's a lot...
