    Salmon vs steelhead

Id say that salmon are easier to find/harder to get to bite...and that steelhead are almost always willing to bite, but harder to find....that said theres always exceptions haha

    What pontoon should I buy?

An 8ft outcast or bucks bag is no problem (assuming you hit your line on a class 3)...I wouldnt want to trust anything less on a class 3 where youve gotten too deep and are going to bounce off of a few things... A ten footer for 800? I havent been able to unload my 13ft for the past month...

    What pontoon should I buy?

I too would agree with the consensus...I have a creek company, fishcat, and have used a bucks bags. I would stick to trying to find a fishcat or a bucks bag in a length you like...I would shy away from anything less than 8 feet for salmon and steelhead river fishing. And like mentioned before...

    Framed raft vs drift boat?

Id agree with RWS...a raft would allow you access to smaller or more technical water than a boat would...plus a raft doesn't need a ramp to launch or take out. However they are slow on the river, selfbailers get a wet floor, and pulling plugs is really a chore...I fish both a selfbailer and 13ft...

    Razor clams in Newport?

Not wanting to hijack the thread but is there anywhere between newport and waldport that has good cockles? Ive been under the green bridge in newport a few times and only found softshells...Was out there just a few days ago and pulled a few legal dungis in though

    Sandy steelhead stats falling off

If I was going to hop back to my home state I would fish the klick or the lewis before I would fish the cow...a ton of people pack that river, and the state is starting to lower the smolt releases.

    Fishing bucket list

Internationally - Patagonia, Mongolia, and the Amazon Nationally - The upper Kern for goldens, the Upper Big hole for grayling, and Florida for the slam... That would be the short list...the long list I dont think would end hahaha

Two Oregon bills propose restarting non-native summer run plants

Im pretty new to the board but not afraid to jump in some warm water hahaha.... Does anyone have escapement goals and counts for these rivers? Id say that if the rivers have met escapement goals for the past 5 years then it Id be down for having them take a look and run an EIR...but if not (and...

    Speydicator?

Not to hijack the thread but the new rio switch line does a decent job if you have a stroke and the basics down as a good tweener line...I carry a nymph rod on my back though so I tend to stick with two separate rigs...

    im going to california

Theres some good water on the Sac around redding through redbluff that has trout and a few stripers in it...If your looking at the expo ponds in Sacramento the American can fish for stripers and the few steelies that run it up to nimbus dam....Further south if your taking I-5 all the way down is...
