    Tualatin River pikeminnow? (2 questions)

Ok...that is what I figured. Can you share a picture of how you rig that? Fishing newbie here...so trying to understand that. And are you just dragging that along the bottom? Out in the channel, or along the bank?

    Jon boat for the Tualatin?

Yep....I've kayaked up it a few times. That said, not all over it to know if there is a deeper section or not. Sounds like, not. What's the footing like? Could you get out and pull the boat up/over it with the motor pulled in....or would it be a lost cause? Specifically looking at jon's to...

    Jon boat for the Tualatin?

Thinking about picking up a 12' or 14' jon boat to fish the Tualatin due to easy access. Both sizes are the same width I believe (36"). I'd prefer to not have to mess with a gas motor....so want to just put an electric motor on it. Currently thinking a 55lb thrust motor with dual batteries...

Probably the dumbest question you'll read all day....

Thanks all...well, most of the "all". :D I figured they just recharged...but wasn't 100% sure. Trolling is the way I want to go, as I'll only be using it on the Tualatin to putt around fishing. Too many docks/trees to go fast, and I'd rather move quietly.

Probably the dumbest question you'll read all day....

I want to buy a small aluminum boat and hook an electric trolling motor up to it. Get the motor, connect the battery, hook to the boat....no problem. So here's the question.... Are these kinds of batteries rechargeable? What happens if/when you run the motor so long the battery dies? Sorry...

    Tualatin River pikeminnow? (2 questions)

2 questions for you folks... 1) Pikeminnow on the Tualatin...they've always been active in closer to dusk, but for the past month they've been largely non-existent. Now when they start hitting the top, its basically dark...so is there a good way to catch them at night? Would casting a light...

    Rivers Tualatin River Fishing Reports

I've fishing around that railroad bridge by Fanno a couple of times, with no success. I've been up a bit past Cook Park as well...but only found a couple of hit and miss holes. As for Cedaroak Boat Ramp, not likely to happen realistically speaking. I live on the river, and just launch from a...

    Rivers Tualatin River Fishing Reports

I'm fairly new to all of this, and am trying to figure out where to fish on the Tualatin for bass (or anything really). I'm down by the Tualatin/Lake O area of the river, and have a kayak. I see a fair bit of top water activity early mornings, but can't find much action. Am I better fishing...

Preferred style of kayak to fish from....sit in, or sit on?

Just curious which you prefer, and why.

Hey bubs...yes, that was me. We're in the process of buying a house that sits on the river. So I'll be fishing from my bank, plus launching kayaks/canoes to explore. Years and years ago I was fly fishing a lot, then working on steelies and salmon. So now I need to figure out what I'm doing...

    Rivers Tualatin River Fishing Reports

Stupid question time from a newbie... but Coho in the Tualatin river? How far up do they go, and what time(s) of year? I'll be fishing a lot around River Run Park....just curious if they come by there or not.

Junior high aged. The screens, thankfully, arent an obsession with them...so any chance to get outside and fish, especially if we're catching, and they'll be all over it.

Just stumbled across this site and thought I'd join. I've been an off an on fisherman for a while now, but havent fished much in a few years. Kids are now at that age where they want to learn, and we're about to be very close to the Tualatin River by River Run park in LO. I'll have access to...
