Thanks Muskieguide. I will try both lakes I think. I was also thinking of fishing the river. In a boat, can you get from Mayfield lake to Riffe Lake? What type of shrimp sent did you use? Were you dipping your worms in it?
Saturday was a good day. Caught 9 on the boat, 2 from shore. Kept 9 Rainbow, 1 Kokanee. Nothing very big though. Had a wonderful time. What a beautiful lake!
Thanks for all the suggestions :) I don't have traps but plan to get a couple. Husband loves to eat them so I figured we would try this out. How do you fish with live crayfish? Is it more bottom fishing or can you troll with them? What type of bait works best for crayfish?

Vernonia pond can be fun. I have found that the trout bite best towards the early part of the year and the bluegill and catfish tend to bite during the summer/fall. This year I have had the most luck with green powerbait. I limited out in about 2 hours. That was right after the April stocking...
