Give it a try huh if they actually cared about the fisheries in Oregon they would not want to get rid of hatcheries. There is so many reasons why this is a horrible idea,
If your bank fishing try casting big spinners like blue foxes. Color does not really matter just pick a color you like or ask the person in the tackle shop what is working. Hoochie spinners could possibly work as well.
That is about the same setup we had run. I know we have had days before using the same setups and land every bite we have. Some days there stubborn fish.
we had a lot of short bites but we run 2 4/0 hoochie, plug cuts, brad lures they seemed to bite on anything just seemed like a lot of them did not want to take it.
Fished Friday landed over a dozen natives with 6 clippers we had 4 people in the boat. Probably had over 50 bites. We fished Saturday with 3 people probably still caught over a dozen natives but only one clipper. Seems like the hatchery fish have moved on and these fish are a different batch...
Went out of Winchester on Friday and were limited out by 10:00 AM. Had 4 people in the boat and got are limit of 8 fin-clipped Coho. We probably threw back at least 10 wild fish and missed 10 or so
I have heard there is pretty good bass fishing in devils lake. Might have to search for some bank fishing access though. I want to say there is trout in there also along with carp.
I feel like people don't anymore in Oregon epically since where do you buy a tui chub? Those fish have been in there a long time and they reproduce like crazy.
