Last Friday was a good day on the big pond out of Winchester Bay.

We had a great day last Friday out Winchester Bay, we got a nice king and 4 Coho and released several others and lost a very large king.

I recognize some of them bridges in the background, congrats on some stud springers. I am hoping the ocean gives us some good days with lots of salmon this summer.

Oh yeah, forgot to say congrats on some very nice looking pigs from the pond.

I like the phrase Pig pond as well, sounds better than big pond.

This time of year he can go to River forks and target salmon both Coho and Chinook. Spinners, plugs from a boat and bobber and eggs all work well at times. Good Luck

Sounds like a great day we fished out of Winchester and the crabbing for us was mot good for us but we did catch 22 Coho to only find 2 keepers.

Go fish the main Umpqua for Small mouth bass from the Elkton area up to Tyee lots of public access from the bank. All typical type bass lures work some of the best and fun fishing that can be done.

I believe this from the ones that are super careful and handle them with care, their are others that simply don't care. I try not to get them out of the water and not in a net a gaffe and slide the hoof out while they are in the water is the best option in my opinion.

I wish they would change the ocean Coho season, just let you catch two fish and be done. Releasing all the natives that are not going to make it is so tough. You can be has careful as you can and some will still die they are so fragile.

They are having a meeting in Newport today hopefully some good news comes from that.

I heard a second hand report they were showing up in Charleston.

There is always going to be a native vs hatchery fish argument from here on out. I truly believe there is not a lot of what you would call pure natives left. I have personally caught native ocean Chinook salmon that had chips in their heads and had to have the nose cut off. I believe there...

Garmin makes some great entry level stuff that is very user friendly, but I would also say look into the new Ray marine stuff it is really nice as well. I would recommend if you are fishing the lower bays or ocean make sure you buy something that offers some base maps built in at least or add a...
