Look into the parks along Baker Creek just outside of McMinnville. That little trickle has been VERY productive for me, especially earlier in the season.
keep an eye out for these guys, I saw three of them cross the road one time between the Glen Avon and Pine creek bridges over the upper Molalla. They are called Fisher Cats.
Remember that one hole that you stopped and looked at and thought to yourself " eh looks a little too fast" or "that's way too shallow to hold fish". That's where the fish are. I've only managed to land the few fish I have out of the Mo, by fishing all sorts of water. Oh, and it took me...
My work is also very close to this area and from my experience in wetland management I can say for sure that the 3 western most ponds are purely storm water runoff. They are not connected to the Tualatin in any notable capacity. The western most one was man made in 07' and is no more than 2'...
The way I figure it 1/3 = .33% so there for 70% or so remain. The Molalla is above the falls, and is the only remaining Willamette tributary without a dam.
If you go to Goods Bridge (HWY 170) stay on the West side of the hwy, the homeowner on the east side has put up barriers. The trial on the West side should get you under the bridge and downstream from it a bit, but it doesn't go too far. Don't forget Meadowbrook bridge (HWY 211). Park on the...
You would think she did judging by how deep she got it. I was fishing a slower deeper, section of water and I had just cast and was waiting for the first tap of the bottom. Felt the first tap, lifted up just a bit with my wrist to start the drift and was caught on something. I didn't set the...
I landed this beautiful little native hen this morning. That makes 2 fish in my last 2 days out, both native hens, both on TCO spinners. The pictures do not do this fish justice, she had amazing pink gill plates, and not one scratch or scale missing.
IMO #5 isn't too big for winters, and #4 is as big as I would go for summers. Although this hen INHALED a #6 in low clear water mid June '10, go figure!!
I know!! I like close ups of live fish, the eyes of a dead fish just look dead. Only a live fish will be looking down trying to figure out what the heck is goin on!
