If you're fighting something that's not moving, it's most likely a Cabezon. A 19" Cab will out pull a 36" ling. They're tough.

You're not going to run a kayak up at Bonneville, that's for sure... But, throughout most of the remaining Columbia River system, you'll find slower and deeper water with some great sturgeon fishing.

Or not. It's easy to do both. Anyways, the Oregon Bay Shrimp that are so common, are not in bays like their name suggests. Most all shrimping in the PacNW is done in 300+ feet of water. In Oregon, you'll not find anyone, that I know of anyways, doing any recreational shrimping. Crabbing...
