Flat wing winter steelhead fly

This a a variation of a fly writen about in northwest fly tyer.

I tied this one for the winter steel but I believe it would produce in low clear water conditions as well.

Tail... perl flashaboo and purple bunny strip
Body...Purple bunny strip and red lightning dub
Side Wings... Badger hackle
Neck...palmered badger hackle
Top wing.... brown calf tail

What hook did you use? A 200R?

Opps, now I see the down eye, 5263?

Its a big hook that came from an old pattern that was given to me. The pattern was falling apart so i reused the hook.

pretty cool. sorta like a zonker minnow im sure it would work in low and clear water, too dark for me though i have confidence in brighter colors
