Which Pole For Surf Fishing In Oregon?

Greetings!
I'm hoping to learn which pole is best for surf fishing for light stuff like Surf Perch here in Oregon. We don't fish every weekend or anything like that. Probably build two poles so my wife or daughter can go with me. There's a specific reel that I like to use for as many fishing trips as possible so I don't have to remember how to maintain more than one kind of reel and I've got two of those ready to go. Also, spending more to get a better and more durable pole is something I'm happy to do. Ideally, buying stuff that lasts is my first choice.
Experience? Fished in Alaska for three years ('79, '80, and '81) and am comfortable around the gear.
YouTube has a channel by some people here who seem pretty good with surf fishing and I've been watching that a bit. FWIW.
Thanks!

8' to 10' light medium action would be my suggestion.
Long low rise beaches here in OR give rise to the need for longer casts get out to the breaker zone.
As to which pole in particular, I don't think it matters that much as long as the length and action fits your usage. Take care of a low cost pole and it will last as long andf serve as well as a high Dollar one.

I just use a decommissioned steelhead rod, 8'6" and a decommissioned President reel. Be sure to hose the salt off after use. I can cast a 3 oz. sinker to kingdom come.

I use a cheap Shakespeare 9' med-heavy rod with a size 50 spinning reel. You just need something long enough to get a line out and heavy enough to handle the weight you want to use. If you already have a medium rod 8' or longer I'd say try it and then go from there. I
