I can't find in the regulations when the Calapooia in the willamette zone is open for angling.

Hi Jdangler- because the Calapooia is not listed under Special Regulations, that means the Zone Regulations apply. So that means it is always closed to Salmon/Steelhead fishing, and Trout are open this year May 23 to Oct 31 but for catch and release only and bait is not allowed.
Warm water fish, if they are in the river, follow the Trout seasons and bait is also not allowed.
So bottom line, the Calapooia is closed until May 23. Then it is open to fishing until Oct 31 with artificial lures/flys for Trout (C&R), Bass (5 per day with no more than 3 over 15") and other Warmwater fish (no limit, no minimum size). cheers, roger

That's a beautiful little river that used to have salmon.
I think there is some effort to bring them back, but without a hatchery there, strays from elsewhere have the potential to overwhelm any endogenous/native fish.
