What size anchor for a pontoon Boat?

How heavy an anchor for an 8 foot pontoon boat? I will be using it for thr river? What size and shape is the best? Where can I get one?

I have an 11 foot toon, and use a 8# lead pyramid anchor. My toon is fully loaded and this style seems to do quite well. I have done the Umpqua, Willamette and McKenzie without incident concerning the anchor...make sure you have plenty of rope...

Craigslist is a good start. There is a guy in Canby that always has an add on CL, he will make anything metal or lead for you. I am sure that Dicks, or sportsmans wherehouse down in Salem have something also.

I use one of these. They won't hold you in super fast water but hold my 12 footer in most situations and are really easy to pull up. Dicks in Salem.
