Surf Perch in Waldport?

Heya, anyone had any luck with red-tail surf perch on the beach at Waldport? I’ve tried it on a couple different days and got skunked. Using Gulp sand worms on a 2 hook dropper rig with a 2 oz. weight. There is second sandbar way out there at low tide (by the stump), maybe I need to be out there. Haven’t tried out on the spit north of the bay, maybe that’s better?

I don't know about Waldport but, a few miles north at Ona Beach, they fish for them there. Just north of Seal Rock.

Went surf fishing for the first time a few weeks ago. No luck but hooked on it and plan to try it more.
