South fork Umqua info

how is the bite ? are they there? how much is to much water?

The bite is slow! Not many hatchery steelhead once again this season which leaves a remnant population of wild fish that at the moment are scattered from one end of the river to the other. It has been tough on the south, the best way to fish would be to side drift and cover lots of water to find fish. If I were stuck on the bank and looking for a hatchery fish I would fish close to canyonville.

Most holes on the south fish best from 2,000-3,000cfs IMO. Here are the current levels.
