Smoker nook with bonus skiens

Went trolling for nooks and hos. Didn't get a rod down until around 10:30am. First fish was a 19 or so pound "darker" hen....perfect smoker fish for me. And she was bleeding pretty bad from the fish. Meat cut decent....the eggs were amazing... Picture makes fish alittle darker then it was and was taken a few hours after net...oh, and do i look tired??? lol....and the fish came inches away from landing itself in the boat!



next fish came around 1pm, this one was much chromer...a nice 7 pound buck native Coho....great for the last day of the open native retention!!!



Little change from the ocean fresh chromers we are used to.......I do love having a smoker fish early in the season so i can just pick and choose and let the darker ones go.

we seen some super brownies jumpin around so i defenitly didn't want to turn this one back just yet! lol

They always darken up once the blood quits flowin too.

ya its funny how a chrome fish will bling even after filleting, and any fish thats at all dark with just darken more
