The old state record black crappie (4lb 6oz) caught in 1995 has been removed from the record books at the request of the angler. The record reverts to Billy R. Biggs at 4 lb 0 oz. caught in 1978.

Why in the world would anyone request to be removed from the record books?

A bag of lead and a guilty conscious.:whistle:

How long were they? I caught a 15 incher once but never weighed it. I figure it weighed a couple of pounds.

A reason to spend more money on lures, more time on research, and more endless wandering thoughts of tactics to become "THE" record holder. All this for a CRAPPIE fish, hehe. It's the thrill of a chase. If I caught the fish of my dreams, what's next?
