So, back when I was 16 (29 now-a-days) my family and I moved to a Christmas tree farm and was extremely lucky and received permission to fish a fairly large "cattle" pond. The deepest portion is about 15 feet deep, with TONS of structure for bass/crappie/sunfish. We've been fishing this bad-boy for about 13 years and have had such a blast fishing an environment that is rarely touched, other than the thirsty cows
Monster crappie (biggest so far was 14.5 inches), a near 13 inch sunfish...I have no idea how they're getting this big..other than feeding on the bass fry. Biggest bass we've pulled out of here is a 6.5 lbs. bass, and I know there are bigger guys in there!
This thread isn't a "neener-neener" thread, but an encouragement to get out there and find these "private" ponds get permission to enjoy them and fish it up! There has to be hundreds of them just in the Willamette valley at least!
