Was fishing for Sturgeon yesterday on the Willamette and caught this pig. I put my feet in the picture to get a sense of its actual size. It was about 10 lbs.

Nice! Where abouts were you?
Those are few and far between.
We hooked one sturgeon fishing below the falls several years back. Probably went 10-15lbs.

It was quite a fatty, but I let it go as I only fish for sport, not food.

Well, it fought like a small sturgeon. Had I been using lighter gear, it world have been a whole different game.

That is a nice chunk of a channel cat. I caught my first and only channel out of the Willamette earlier this year. I think I get bites from catfish sometimes (reel in a bait that is stripped to the bone) but I have only hooked that one in Oregon. The one I caught was also really fat like yours. My conclusion is that the catfish population may not be large but the ones that are there are certainly not hurting for food

They gorge themselves on the healthy craw population. no shortage of food for sturgeon and catfish at all

About a year ago, I saw a guy get one just like that while he was C&R sturg fishing at Kelley Point.
