I did a lap around Ash Island with one bite. Lots of boats our there fishing today.

Thanks for the quick report, Ken. Were they mostly fishing for salmon/steelies? I want to launch from Rogers on Monday, but I may launch in the Yamhill from Dayton instead.

I'm probably not the best person to ask but I'm guessing salmon. Everybody was anchored and looked like they had some sort bait/lure drifting in the current. I did see one boat at the down stream end of the island cast a big chunk of fish out and looked like it went to the bottom so I'm guessing they were going for sturgeon.

Sorry, not much info but I took a 25+ year break from fishing so at this point I'm still trying to figure how how to tie a line.:redface:

Thanks! That's great info. Sounds like they anchored up for salmon. As long as they are anchored up, it should be easy to stay away from them and troll the flats and ledges for bass.
