New or maybe just new to me floats

Hey guys I had tried to get my local bait shop to order some drenan floats and apparently they can't. What they did order for me was from Carlisle float company the hot rod slim float. They look just like the pictures of the drenan ones. I don't know how they compare but from look and feel they seem decent quality. I really liked the price as that come in a 2 pack for 6.49. I'm going to try to get to the creek in the morning and I'll let you guys know what I think of them. I'm doing all kinds of testing this trip, new rod avid 96mlf-2 and a daiwa Lexa 2500 spinning.

I posted this in the wrong place sorry.

Looks nice! Do they make them in zeppler style (short and fat)?

Yes they had those there also. I didn't get any of them because I'm not sure when I would use them or if I would. Same price though, should I get some of them also? When*would they be used?

Are those floats soft bodied like the Drennans? I've been using Sheffield floats and have been very happy with them. They are exactly like the Drennans I was using but are about 1/3 as expensive. Drennans are pricing themselves out of my tackle box.:(

They're flexible but I'm not sure if they are like drennan because nobody local can get them. I squeezed them for the pics

They look good to me! I normally fish the same drennan for the entire winter so price does not really matter to me but if these are the same quality and cheaper I'm all for it!

5 drennan or Carlisle? How? I go through a lot of floats a year but, I fish around brushes and rocks.

5 drennans is around $25 bucks. That's less than the gas it took to go on one fishing trip. :D Still not to bad for a year or even a winter.

I live less than 10 minutes from the creeks here. Actually I can walk to the one in 15 minutes. I guess I'm lucky.

I've been using the Cleardrift floats this season and they have been pretty durable. I ran into them by accident in Tillamook when I left a lot of gear and didn't realize it until I got there. Fished the Kilchis with them and got 11 Chum in 4 hours while I was targeting Chinook last November. The other fisherman around me wanted to know what I was doing, nothing different than the other bobber guys but the Cleardrift. I used the Beau Mac foam floats before but seem to have done better with the Cleardrifts and never went back. I've seen the drennans in stores but never tried them. They all look about the same. Interested to see how they hold up for you.

Sunday evening I'll have a initial report on them. I'm going out to the creek early and going to try them out. I'll be fishing under a railroad bridge actual its a old block tunnel and I always smack the walls so that'll be a good durability test.

Lucky!
