How many amps for fish finder and transducer

Garmin says a Striker Vivid 9SV with a GT52-HW-TM transducer draws between .75 and 1.5 amps. But, it rates the transducer at 250 watts for Chirp and 350 watts for other modes. So, 250 watts at 12 volts draws about 21 amps. So, how can the finder and transducer only draw a maximum of 1.5 amps/

I think it's because the transducer output is sound not power.

I read another article that says it produces 250-350 watts only in the transmit mode. And it spends 1% of the time transmitting and 99% of the time listening. Either way, it doesn't draw much current. Thanks for the reply!
