and after seeing it jump i was really surprized to see that it was a hatchery fish

Nice fish but it doesn't look 43", pictures are decieving though! :think: I would guess 30-35 lbs if I didn't know better. I caught a 39" hen last year that weighed 25 lbs, 43"@ 40 3/4 lbs is a stretch.
My son Caught this springer last year, he is 5'11", any guess's on the weight of this one?
I doubted how much it weighed based on experience. wasn't taking any credit away from the fish because look at it. It's a damn trophy!

Great looking fish but to say that fish weighed 40 lbs its CRAZY. I have caught and seen hundreds of Springers if not a thousand . I have NEVER seen a 40lb springer your fish MAYBE weighed 30 highly doubt that as well. I do not want to sound like a jerk but when you post some unbelievable weight with a picture of the fish then you're asking for peoples opinion.
