Gary Marlet rod builder info

New here. We recently bought a friends fly fishing gear and all his rods were custom made by Gary Marlet. Does anyone have any info on him? The rods are well used but still look great, Sage and G. Loomis blanks. We tried talking him into going fishing with us, we'll do all the work, but he doesn't want to fish anymore (he's 90 and probably in better shape than we are!).

Gary Marlet used to build "shop" rods out of the Caddisfly Angling shop made from any available blank when it was run by Robert Guard. It was sold to Chris Daughters years ago and he continues to run the shop today. I am not sure if Gary built shop rods for Chris as I left Eugene in the late 80's... I'd check with Chris for more information. I am happy to hear he is still alive...!!
