Fishing in Foster Lake

Can anyone tell me the different varieties of fish that live in Foster Reservoir at Sweet Home. I was there for the past several days and a guy camped next to me caught two fish that an "expert" said were large mouth bass. These fish were in the 16" to 17" range, had a mouth perhaps the size of a walleye (no teeth) and no more girth than a trout of that size. Sure weren't like any large mouth I've ever seen.

(i have caught) Crappie, smallmouth, large mouth, bluegill, perch, trout, kokanee, chinook, pikeminnow and I have heard rumors of walleye. "Trout like" would say pikeminnow to me. Bronze color would be smallmouth or walleye.

Thanks for the reply, Combat Chuck. I am assuming what you call a pikeminnow is what I call a squawfish? Haven't seen one of them in over 50 years but these fish sure made me think of them. Did notice they had kind of a pink-red tint at the fins. I'm sure they weren't bass and not sure about walleye since I've never caught one.

Yup, that's the fish. Thanks a lot.
