First winter steel of the year

Got off work around 2:00. Got to the house and sat in the easy chair and I heard my Lamiglas whining at the door. So I gave in and said Ok girl come on. Got to the water and three cast in all hell broke loose. Because any of you that has fished around me knows I get pretty vocal. BOBBER DOWN!!!SET THE HOOK !! SWING BATTER BATTER !! GET THE NET!!!! And even though I was the only one around. Oh ya I still scream it all out. This little girl was up river, down river, across river, doin cartwheels the whole time. I always forget why I love winter steelhead so much until the first one of the year comes. Makes me feel tuff like arnold:lol:

out of all the years ive steelhead fished. thats the second fish from a jig the first one i got on a jig was around 20 years ago. I just dont jig fish much. But I was at fishermans the other day and grabbed a couple jigs made by Cascade jigs. "BobberDown" Great jigs and also great price.

more of a drift then float guy huh? i could understand that i think drifting is more productive but float fishing is a bit easier in my opinion i practiced on trout this year to tell the difference between the bottom and a strike. im getting pretty gopod at it but i still need to practice. here's the jig i have rigged for 3 rivers ill probably tip it with a live worm . although most of the water is mostly drift fishing heart attack has a decent size pocket i could throw a jig in. i also like aero jigs. that what imma get before we head out. black and red color. i used one for summer steel at fishermans bend on the n.santiam had a few fish look but not takes besides the one dink i caught. also got my glow in the dark shrimp sceted pink worms. not the best inventory but im not the best drift fishermen xD i might take a look into those jigs you mentioned esecially if they are cheap xD (on a ver very very small budget). take care bro,
