Going to be in the Madras area tomorrow and was wondering if there was any access to the Deschutes between here and Bend.

the water is super high this time of year, but you could try cline falls in redmond, tumalo state park, or for a spot closer to you turn off the highway before terrebonne on lower bridge rd and follow tell it crosses the river. there is a parking lot there.

Ya, but that's about an hour drive out of Madras. Those would be your best options though, but with this weather a movie may be a better option!

Thanks for the info, do you know any places that would be good to fish this time of year within an hour or two of Madras. We will be in Madras checking on a summer home and wanted to do some fishing while we were over there. Just off the bank with spinning gear.

Almost all your other options this time of year are fly only. The Crooked, Fall, Metolius are all within the driving distance time. You could always head to Maupin though.

If you want to fish the Deschutes in the area you mentioned go to Terrebonne and head west on Lower Bridge Rd. Follow it to the "Lower Bridge" where it crosses the Deschutes and fish there. Another option is to head over to Crooked River Ranch and hit Steelhead Falls or the Folly Water on the Dechutes. Good luck.
