Delta Ponds Fishing Reports

So I dink'd around Delta Ponds yesterday afternoon and caught some sunfish and yellow perch. Nothing huge but a few good ones and they are oh so pretty little fish. It was the first time I had been there, and I was using a little float with some Berkley maggots. Almost seemed like cheating with those small scented wormies... Unfortunately there is very little fishable water due to a take-over of weeds and lily pads, but I found a few small areas that I could cast to that were weed and pad free. I was thinking about giving it a try before dusk with a little top-water plug to see if there are any bass around. Fun little spot! Any body have any neat stories from there?

You should fare well, with Topwater plugs, before dusk. Good luck.

Delta ponds used to be a good bass fishery until the city and ODFW decided to open them up to the Willamette. I'm sure there's still some bass hanging around there somewhere. I think your best bet for bass would be the ponds on the other side of Delta Highway. About the only access though is right here https://www.google.com/maps/@44.0840646,-123.1001021,190m/data=!3m1!1e3 Good luck and I hope this helps.

Awesome, thanks! I'm assuming you are pointing to that little turnout/parking spot off that bubble that comes off of Delta Hwy. I'll give it a try and let ya know!

So I tried to find a spot to fish "on the other side of Delta Hwy", but I couldn't really find a spot to get access. There probably is a place some where, I just didn't have a lot of time to go searching for one (gf was with me lol)... We stop off at the usual spot and made a few casts, fun ensued!
