Canyon trout

Well, to say the least it was a great day on the water. It felt like early or late summer.. I even got a lil burnt on my face Never been to the crooked below bowman dam before. As i pulled up I was in heaven. Sun was shining, Fish were rising ferociously at all the BWOs and Gnats?, Weren't many other anglers, What more can a fisherman ask for ? I started out around the Big Bend campground with a BWO and a scud trailing. Had a few pecks and missed em. I decided to walk upstream a little more and this is when the fun started. A hatch took off and I tied on a griffith gnat? I think thats what its called. Anyways,For about an hour it was a fish every other cast. Missed a couple really big ones for this river ( As ive heard) probably in the 14-18" Range. And I saw an even BIGGER one rise in the day. My biggest was around 11-12" that I landed. These fish are feisty little guys and A LOT of fun on the ol' 3/4wt. I took some pictures of the beautiful scenery and some nice trout along with some underwater releases. If I can find out a way to post 'em I will. Until then Tight lines!

The site will host those photos for you. Just do "edit" on your original post then go "advanced". Once in "advanced" scroll down the page and go into the "manage attachments" function. From there it's pretty intuitive how it works.

Well done, this is why I love this area so much! The decision on which river to fish can sometimes be a really tough decision. The Met has been OK lately from what I've heard, was only out there last Saturday for the first time in a few weeks. However, I hooked the biggest bull that I've ever hooked into. This fish was well over 30" and most likely a 10+lb. fish. Best of luck

A little this and a little that. Pullin' streamers works as well as some other tricky things. First thing to do is find the fish, then.........

Me too, I always go out to "that" river with a little glimmer of hope. Sometimes that's all we get out there
