Best fishing places near Thurston, Springfield OR

Hey I just moved out to thurston and have been wondering what are the best easy access places to fish out here. I like fly fishing a lot, but I have plenty of lure and bait gear. I currently do not have a drivers liscense so the closer the better. Thank you for your time. Any advice helps.

either up the mac or alton baker, but i dont know if either is within walking distance.
