It is my understanding that the Hatchery Steel head will still be running in the Alsea. I will be in the area April 4-10th. Can anyone share any information? Looking for places t fish from shore, lure, bait etc..

On the Alsea, as with any other coastal river with a road along it, just look for pull offs with well-worn trails down to the river. There will be a place to fish. Avoid private property with no trespassing signs and you will be fine. There are many places to fish on the Alsea for miles and miles.

Couple things to consider. Winter steelhead generally blow through tidewater and aren't easily or successfully targeted by anyone until they slow down in the river. If your just starting out, go to the upper river near the hatchery..your best odds.
