Well I have 9 foot float rod. So I would probably rig it as deep as i could, probably about 9 or 10 feet... Again its an uncommon scenario.

This is true but I rarely run into this problem.

I dont like using slip bobbers for steelhead. try a fixed bobber it may cure your casting problem. I like the solid hard plastic ones and the ones that you can pun water in to add weight. Give them a try it is much more simple to rig and adjust...:)

Pink worms work great but dont fall in love with them like I see most people on the river have...;)

Hey there I always take two rods one rigged for each, you never know what kind of situation you might run in too... Another plus is having the extra rod.:)
