    Springer's and summer's - what's the word?

Plum2 and Kodiak, thanks for the info. The word is that I went up to the dam today and saw 50 plus folks crowded into the hatchery side and the park side. Only saw 4 Steelhead landed all day. No action at all at the church camp hole and Wiley creek was dead when I checked in there too. Saw 4...

    Looking for Dexter steelhead tips

I have fished the north side from the dam down to the power lines and I think there is a lot of good water away from the crowds. I also don't think everyone up by the dam are snagger's. I know I'm not. I don't use a 10 foot leader, but I do use a 3 to 4 foot leader in summer clear water with a...

    Don`t ask....

You should notify ODFW. Even if they can't get out and check out the area, they can track the behavior and see if there is a patteren. That really sucks.

    Springer's and summer's - what's the word?

I was hoping to get a report so that I would not waste my time and gas to travel a 100 miles round trip for not.

Are they around yet? The Willamette Falls counts look good and I was wondering if I would find anything this weekend. Lebanon area? Any word?

    Chrome Hen Silent film

Actually when the fish has tired you can tail it pretty easy. In this case I would of walked it up the bank because the fish still had a lot of spunk in it, pretty much what happened. Got to be careful with the tip of the rod, keep it up when bending over to pick up the fish or tailing it. If...

    Siuslaw cougar warning

I was fishing the Siuslaw road side and also the cats were seen on the Siuslaw road side. They were seen just north of mile post 1 at what I think was an old boat take out. Its a very popular fishing spot, I'm sure you have seen it and fished it. Large flat area leading down to the river and...

    Siuslaw cougar warning

Yep, you read right. I was fishing up between Whittaker and Wildcat (now I know why they call it wildcat) and there was this boat in the bank spot I wanted. No biggy we can share, I put down my gear and we all said our hello's. Good I think we are off to a good start. I start casting and wait...

    Surf fishin'?

Jenna, I have heard that Steelhead really don't bite in salt or tide water, they past through and bite better in fresh water. I think some people catch a few. I fished a lot the last three years off the jetties in Half Moon Bay and Osprey Point out of Winchester Bay. At low tide you are...

    Santiam steel

They will be in the Mill City area late March early May. Best numbers in June and July. That would be for Summers. Spring Chinook will also be in the system but I'm not sure how that run will be for Chinooks yet.

What yarn colors work best for you?

Could not of said it better. I too am a glo bug yarn fan. I think it fluffs up in the water better. Just a heads up and not to high jack a thread, but you can enter to win free yarn from the glo bug site. I did and won - got myself a three year supply of yarn for free. Can't fail with pinks...

    Siuslaw winters

Went looking for Winters today on the Slaw...the river is very brown and high. A couple folks out plunking. I tried for about 2 hours, but the water was just too full of debris and fast. Maybe tomorrow... Anyone else out on the Slaw lately?
