Rogue/ South Coast steelhead endorsement and tag WT*

https://www.eregulations.com/oregon/fishing/southwest-zone?ver=alternate Scroll down to the map, it wouldn't let me copy/paste. Think I figured it out? Now to figure out what rivers are looking in shape?

I'm trying to figure this out too, new tags for Rogue basin. Any sea lawyers want to try and explain it?

Bait for shore fishing for rockfish and perch

I get a frozen box of squid or shrimp very inexpensive, especially in any Asian market, some places have it in bulk. To help keep bait from sliding off hooks I've been using bait buttons, keeps plastic baits in place too. Using local free bait works well, while out on the rocks use mussels and...

    Buy sell trade

If it's not already up, a suggestion would be a classifieds page to buy, sell and trade within our community. It would make it easier to list, and search for gear, boats(?) or other options that is locally owned or made while supporting local PNW fishing enthusiasts by "keeping it in the family".

Now that we've covered stripers, cutty people can chime in.

    Striped bass and cutthroat trout

The biggest run is late March through late June, they feed on the shad runs. There are some random stripers year round, some big ones. Not worth the overnight during the winter. Hope this helps you Dan

    Striped bass and cutthroat trout

Some ultra wealthy guy who moved from the east coast had them imported as a "better sporting fish". He had roughly 370 (+/-) smolts released in the Smith/Umpqua confluence in the late 40's. They started breeding and had minimal natural enemies, making them the Apex predator in the rivers. Since...

    Striped bass and cutthroat trout

Haven't caught any stripers in the surf, yet. Mostly fishing from the bank along the Smith or the Umpqua is where I have my best luck. They make the best fish tacos. On a good night it's cast, catch, cook, repeat. The most popular spot is on the Smith, known as "the guardrail". You can also get...

    Sockeye catch

Only the designer sockeye. Not the Ivory strain, when separated from it's mate it lays in a deep pool waiting for another to pair up with.

    Sockeye catch

I use lint balls with snuggles scent booster. They always swim in pairs, if you catch one the other one gets lost.

    Upper Willamette chrome

Thanks, that's right up the road. Thought I would try somewhere on the Willie before it forks to the Kenzie. I've heard of sturgeon laying in that stretch too. I'm going to try Irish Bend sometime soon as well, it's supposed to be easily accessible as well.

    Upper Willamette chrome

Looking for Salmon/Steelhead bank fishing spots between Harrisburg and Corvallis, suggestions? Doesn't have to be your secret hole. Popular spots are fine, I'm a combat fishing veteran, I served on the Skokomish, have received 4 Purple Corkies. Seriously, I am a disabled vet so no place where I...
