Any action anywhere on the McKenzie?

I went up to the hatchery yesterday since I had some time to kill, and I hadn't been up there in quite awhile. There was 1 fish in the holding trap, and of course the water was high and fast.

    Advice on waders

I have a pair of Remington neoprene waders and a pair of Allen breathable waders. Both bought at Bi Mart 2 summers ago. I use the neoprenes in colder weather and the breathables during the summertime, and they're both still in great shape. I want to say I paid around 70-80 bucks for each...

Anybody tried lately on the McKenzie?

I was just curious if anybody's still trying to catch any steelhead up on the McKenzie. I haven't been up there in awhile, probably a month or a little more. The last few times I was up there it was real slow. I was looking at the pics on my phone and the last fish I caught was June 30th...

    Columbia River walleye

Just remember that if you do catch a walleye...don't try to "lip" em like you do with a bass, lol.

    Columbia River walleye

Back when i was real young I can remember we used to go out on the Columbia in the Goldendale/the Dalles area in a boat. All we did was drop a worm straight down into the water and just let it sink. Pretty soon you'd have a walleye on.

    Jig fishing for nutria

That one on the right in that pic looks huge! The biggest one I think I ever shot weighed a little over 17lbs. We used to have those things all over my parents property growing up. I used to go out daily and take out as many of those things as I could. It's a good way of keeping your...

    Funny pic

Haha, that's what I thought too when I saw this pic. And look at the length of all their fishing rods, you'd think they were fishing for salmon or something, lol.

I had to share this picture. Does anybody else feel like this pic sometimes when they're at their fishing spot,?? lol.

Rooster Tails - love em or hate em?

I wouldn't necessarily say I hate the Rooster Tail. It was the only spinner I used when I was a kid and did catch a heck of a lot of fish with them. And back then I never really noticed the non-spinning blade. But now that I'm older I have noticed it completely. Enough that I haven't bought a...

What did you learn this fishing season?

I learned how to recognize the bite of a steelhead and salmon a whole lot better while drift fishing on the McKenzie this summer. Been a float and jig, trolling, and plunker fisherman my whole life when it comes to the salmon and steelhead (you get a little spoiled when growing up fishing and...

    Has anybody tried this yet?

I had never tried making my own pizza, so I figured I'd give it a try, but I wanted to try to maybe make a healthier pizza (If that's actually possible). So I bought one of those Boboli wheat pizza crusts, some sauce, some turkey pepperoni pizza slices (70% less fat) and turkey bacon. I had...
