Hey do you use a wet or dry brine? if wet you should try a dry brine and see what you think. I've done both and like the dry better and you can baist with say teriyaki while smoking as well.

Well there are steelhead in alton baker,I seen them yesterday but very slow fishin' ,me and the nephew had a good walk from the conoe shoots to the park tossin' spinners and lures the whole way and not one bite.
check around the rocks on the jetties etc. all those critters are food for ocean fish. take a big flathead screwdriver or something to pry them off the rocks and fishon.

Ok just keep it simple the rod is a little short but my wife uses a6'6" ugly stik one piece and so far this year she's got me skunked 2-0 so th e rod will do you fine until you learn a bit more. As far as line goes, maxima chamelion in 8-10# is great stuff for any type of fish. obviously smaller...
Hope things got fixed up but I like tufline xp in yellow and 30# but i only run it on my bobber rod and also they're right palomar is the best knot to use imo. Bouncing and drifting, mono works great. Stay away from the glue bro it can't be good, besides just something else to have with ya...
