Stupid question but what is it? Came in an old tackle box handed down to me. I see how it works but does it have a name?

The area I saw them in was about 4' deep with about 5' tall weeds. I catch a lot of bass on the edges of it but had never seen carp there. They sure look like they would be fun to catch. I couldn't believe how big they were.

I will have to try the bread trick. Not sure if they just moved into this area or if they just happened to be on top that day. I don't think my little trout pole would have a chance so I guess I'll take the big pole with me next time.

Definitely more clear than the Yamhill. I was in 2' of water and couldn't see the bottom in the Yamhill. That big one was quite the anchor trying to get down to Newberg.

Hit the water around 8 at Dayton and trolled down to the paddle launch in Dundee. Had the river to myself then all the sudden probably 10 kayaks snuck up on me and disappeared around the corner.

I just got back from kayaking there. Launched at Hebb park and went up to the Molalla. Drug the kayak 50 yards where it meets the Willamette then paddled up stream a ways. No luck other than a couple small bass in the Willamette.

The Yamhill between Lafayette and the Willamette is BARELY moving. I went down it in July last year and paddled the whole way. Shouldn't be any issues with paddling up it or anchoring. There are a ton of snags to avoid but no problem in a kayak.

That is definitely an area where you feel away from it all. I launched last year at the Yamhill Locks and paddled down to Newberg. It was late summer so not much water movement and tons of snags but ok in a kayak. Only saw one other boat before I hit the Willamette.

I'm probably not the best person to ask but I'm guessing salmon. Everybody was anchored and looked like they had some sort bait/lure drifting in the current. I did see one boat at the down stream end of the island cast a big chunk of fish out and looked like it went to the bottom so I'm guessing...

I did a lap around Ash Island with one bite. Lots of boats our there fishing today.
