    Steelhead in Junction City Pond

I just talked to Roaring River Hatchery and they confirmed what the driver told you, no more stocking of brood trout. The Recreation Report on the ODFW website has reported inaccurate information several times about Roaring River Hatchery brood stocking. The stocking schedule does only report...

    Steelhead in Junction City Pond

Today was a little slow with brooder, but they stocked with 350 12" trout, fishing for them was fair. Some are bright with pink ( all most red ) meat and can be cooked the same way steelhead or salmon are, ie baked, BBQ, smoked etc. Some are dark white meat and mushy and make good fertilizer...

    Steelhead in Junction City Pond

I caught a brooder on a worm with a green corky, about a foot of leader yesterday, but took all day. I tried worm on bottom, power bait, kastermaster, was there 9 hours before I got a hit. Only saw 2 caught all day and 2 others lost. All were on power bait or worm.

Steelhead are getting scarce at JCP. There still brooders in there. Getting them to hit is another story. Jig don't seem to work on them. Last 2 days its been power bait or worms. Spinners and spoons also worked early in the week. Good Luck

He kept the bass, but I would have released it. Fishing is slowing down, only saw 4 fish caught yesterday and 2 today but left early both days. Not many people at the pond today in the wind.
