Sorry Chromatose, but chap stick is what you smear on your waders and then light on fire to keep your backside from freezing (true meaning of "flamer"). Of course you can only wade so deep, but....

    Nothing will ever happen again

Heh, glad you enjoyed it sir:) I have come to the conclusion that while neither Coburg nor the Umpqua basis were ever heaven while I was growing up, heaven was probably a local call from there.

Any of these rod/reels better than others?

My two cents would be to accept all of them if they have no use for them, then clean em up, keep ones you want and donate or sell the rest.

    Nothing will ever happen again

Nothing will ever happen again I grew up on a donation land grant in SW Oregon with my parents and grandparents on my dad’s side, two miles off the county road. As an only child (the nearest kid my age was couple miles away, and we didn’t like each other), I learned to be creative when it came...

    Surf fishing advice

Agree with everything Slabjig said. Would also add the tired old (but don't you dare ignore it cause it can save your life) advice to NEVER EVER TURN YOUR BACK ON THE OCEAN, AND DON'T TRY STANDING ON OR CLOSE TO LOGS AND THINGS IN THE SAND!!! Sneaker waves and the sand getting sucked out from...

Lemolo Lake during hunting season Fall 2022

I saw that Idyld trading post, just east of Glide on 138, had them for $6.50 each. Looked like they had a fare selection. Not sure how it would be without a boat, but if it was me, I'd definitly spend some time fishing the arm where lake creek dumps in.

Thanks for the replies. Agree a canoe would work well if lakes and ponds, but not so much for rockfish in the bays. Was looking at a lifetime kayak from tractor supply for around $800.00, but it's only a single and I don't know much about the brand or company. As for tandem, no real clue what...

So, looking at ways to get my middle child and me out on the water. I have experience paddling pontoons on creeks and rivers, but don't thing pontoon is the way I want to go. Wanting something that will fit both of us (kids 6'4" and 250lbs, and I'm 6' 1" or so and well a bit heavier than...

Crappie!?? Did you say crappie?? Holy cats but those are good uns! You let em go or release to the grease? I been focusing on salt water and rock fish, but those are definitly some head turning slabs. Good deal :)
