Had a nice hook up and long distance release yesterday swinging flies. Got a nice tug a few head shakes and a good surface boil and then it was gone! We were down at the end of the park. Things have sure changed. Some big trees in the water around and above the boat ramp.
"I find myself staring at charts and google earth pictures of the Imnaha... day dreaming.. wishing I could find someone with the testicular fortitude to hike in and fish it for 3-4 days in the early spring with me"
If we save our cash I have a helicopter to use.... or drop us off.

Don't know about the pond but caught a 18-20" rainbow on the Metolius Sunday. Nice Golden Stone nymph under a indicator. If your in Black Butte your only 10-15 min away. Fly fishing only.
Hey guys,
I grew up just off Jasper Road. That whole area was my play ground. If you go down river and across the mill race there are/were indeed some awesome ponds. Big bluegill and some very large bass as well. I used to spend a lot of time back there in the early 80's. Had total access and...

Well thanks for the words everyone. I went to Dodge for a bit and just wasn't feeling it. Went to the original plan and hit Oxbow.
Started fishing the first run and TugTugTug fish on! Killer battle with a nice chrome native. I'm guessing about 28-29 inches and he was mad...
Have the day off tomorrow and going for Steelhead. Still trying to catch the first one on a fly. Leaving Bend westbound at 4:00 am, anyone have a good direction to head? Fished the Sandy and North Santiam last week. Just wondering if anyone wants to hook up? Any good water with everything so...
I fish the first stretch coming out of the base of the dam. From the dam down 4-5 miles is where the action is. Very cold water right out of the botttom of the res. Need to wear waders but is a great tailwater fishery. Google Boise flyshops for accurate fishing reports. Lots of Idaho plates out...
Have 2 second an earlier post. Big Browns on the Owyhee River below the dam. Last summer caught a 23" with a 3 wt fly rod. Using a big hopper and a size 20 dropper. The fish took the small nymph and the battle was on.
Good fun and you can see them slurping bugs on the surface.
