I've had a Hobie i11s (inflatable "kayak") and I've patched it a bunch - maybe I can help. Which glue are you using to patch? Is it a big hole or small one (I've had to patch all sizes on my kayak - one so big I had to cut out a patch and buy special glue and roller to get it to adhere...

When I get to Waldport and have a good idea of when I can shake free from the Supreme Leader I will send you a note - maybe we can fish it together.

Excellent! I'll check it out for sure. I can walk my inflatable Hobie i11s down most launches - it has wheels and is light. That powerline launch would have been kinda sketch with my truck since I have camper on it - so I just parked up at the top and wheeled the yak down. Is stuck hole launch...

Love it. I've only fished the Power Lines section and the Rapp Bar - not sure where I'll fish but there's a section of the Rapp Bar up near the top that I've fished twice before that was super fun on topwater fly - and it's such a nice place to spend the day, eat lunch etc.... I'm leaning that...

Title says it all - I'll be back in Waldport from Sept. 17th - 23rd and all I can think about is getting back on the Umpqua and fishing smallies again. So my big question is this: Is smallmouth fishing/catching over by then? Is the water too cold? Too low? Too green? I'd most like hit the Big K...

San Carlos is a sweet spot...I'm predicting you're a windsurfer or kiter. Fun surf there too as long as the winds not cranking AND there's white sea bass and yellow tail in the kelp beds just offshore. The closest mangroves on the Pacific side would be at the esteros at Abreojos or La Bocana -...

Baja mangrove fishing with a fly rod is crazy, crazy fun... been going down there to surf and fish since I was 10 (53 now) - it's probably my favorite place to fish. I could talk about it at length, I don't want to high jack this thread too much so I'll just post a couple photos of some of what...

Thanks for the report! I'm curious about that particular spot, I have a Hobie kayak with pedal drive and I am able to paddle back up current at some of the slower spots at Big K Ranch- is that water at the RV park similar slow water? And was there plenty of river to fish without having to go...
